From the Benesse Museum (which btw also hosts a few hotel rooms), a very tiny, very steep cablecar leads up the hill to the so-called Oval, a true oasis of calm which accomodates another bunch of hotel suites. It is only accessible to overnight guests of the Benesse House, so staying there (no matter which part of the hotel) is clearly advisable if you don't want to miss out on one of the most stunning sites...

The pretty little village Honmura host to the Art House Project - different artists have remodeled traditional houses into their own art works. You can't really see it from the outside, but some of them are quite funky inside...
