Impressions of the Izu Peninsula

Our first stop at the spectacular cliffs of Jogasaki coast...
...before we arrived in Shimoda...
... where suddenly vast sandy beaches appear between the cliffs.
We enjoyed the view from our room at the Yamatokan ryokan...
...the hot spring bath facing the beach...
...hanging out in our yukatas (the ryokan actually managed to provide them in the right size for us, even for Simon's - for Japan incredibly tall - 1.87m)...
...and of course the delicious fresh seefood!
We made our way back through the mountains - with lots of broccoli trees - ...
...and made a last stop at the traditional onsen village Shuzenji.
