Pasta
Although I am definitely planning to try preparing some home-made fresh pasta at some point in the future my pasta section for the moment just contains recipes for pasta toppings. I find pasta is a great basis for experimenting with sauces, and due to the short preparation time it is also very suitable for spontaneous meals.
To give the pasta an extra twist here is a little hint which I learned at a cookery class with Munich chef Alfons Schuhbeck: Boil the pasta in salt water as you would usually do, but drain it about 4 minutes before the specified cooking time is over. Just before serving add some vegetable stock to the pasta and let it simmer for the remaining 4 minutes. The vegetable stock should then have been largely absorbed by the pasta, so you may have to play around with the amount of stock you add before it becomes routine!
