We'll be in Tokyo for a few days over Easter - so looking forward to it! We'll spend a few days meeting our friends, enjoying some great food and just generally hanging out at what used to be our "regular" places. Also, the cherry blossom is early this year, and as a matter of fact it is expected to peak exactly while we are there. So very lucky, indeed...

Ginger

Ginger is another one of those spices which can be combined nicely with both sweet and savoury dishes. By the way, contrary to its looks ginger is in fact not a root, but the subterranean stem of a plant most likely originated in China. I have often been using Ginger for rather spicy fusion-style cuisine and am only just starting to integrate it in desserts. In fact I find it a particularly good match with fruits, so more to explore in this field!
